Submit a stone
If you’re interested in submitting a stone, please read the details below before sending an email.
Historic stones
If you know of a stone (or stones) with history that’s missing from the map and directory, please feel free to send the information in an email along with any photos, videos, or other reference material.
Contemporary stones
I get a lot of requests to add newly placed ‘contemporary’ lifting stones. I love contemporary lifting stones, and I’m happy to include them, but these stones require extra work to maintain – the goal is to keep the map and directory useful for the stonelifting community by including stones that are well-established, actively looked after, and receive regular visitors.
If you’d like to submit a contemporary stone, please include the following in your email:
- A good photo of the stone
- The name of the stone
- The location (decimal coordinates, a Google Maps link, or a W3W address)
- Weight in kilograms or pounds
- The number of stones (if applicable)
- Permission and access information
- Whether the stone is freely available to lift, requires an appointment, or is liftable only as part of an event or competition
- Any other specific access information
- General information about the stone and its story
- Images, videos, or links to posts demonstrating the stone has received multiple distinct lifters (separate instances) over the last twelve months
- A method to contact the person who cares for the stone, e.g., an email address or a social media profile, which will be publicly shown on the map listing
